I conveyed to him my intention to craft a book that delved beyond the historical events and business achievements, one that would illuminate the personal dimensions of our relationship and the unique hues and facets of his character hidden from the world – a life that extended beyond the formidable façade of the ‘industry doyen.’
He graciously assented, recognizing that a single book could not encapsulate the entirety of his being. He encouraged me to offer my perspective.
Their shared compassion for homeless dogs ignited an improbable friendship. In 2014, Shantanu Naidu, an automotive design engineer in his early twenties, devised an innovation to safeguard local strays from the perils of speeding cars. Ratan Tata, renowned for his empathy toward stray canines, took notice. Not only did he decide to invest in the initiative, but over time, he also assumed the roles of mentor, supervisor, and unexpectedly, a cherished friend to Shantanu.
“I Came Upon a Lighthouse” is a candid, light-hearted narrative that chronicles this unique connection between a millennial and an octogenarian, offering glimpses of an adored Indian luminary bathed in a warm and affectionate light.
