Some love stories unfurl gradually, like a slow-burning ember. Others burst into flames instantly, searing and leaving an indelible mark on your very being before you even draw your first breath. There’s no escaping it. That’s how I’d characterize our journey.
Everything else faded into insignificance, leaving only his lips, his touch… The pursuit and the intensity between us became intoxicating. Our nights together served as a welcomed distraction, one we yearned for to the extent of allowing the world to crumble around us. We ought to have been more observant; we should have foreseen this outcome. We both understood it couldn’t endure, yet it didn’t alter our deepest longing.
All we craved was each other…
